I have created an open source python/Matlab framework for beam FEA and equal stress optimization. The purpose of this software is to optimize the energy storage of beam springs.
Features:
1. 2-D Euler–Bernoulli frame elements with axial, shear, and bending DOFs
2. Linear and nonlinear (Newton-Raphson) large-deflection analysis
3. Stress-ratio thickness optimisation — iteratively redistributes material for uniform stress
4. Truss subdivision — refine coarse truss meshes into fine frame elements for organic topology optimisation
5. Geometry import from CSV and IGES/IGS files (e.g. SolidWorks spline exports)
6. Profile export — trace optimised outlines and write SolidWorks-ready spline files
7. Visualisation with physically-scaled beam thickness rendering
8. Rigid element support via stiffness penalty method
9. Stress post-processing — axial, bending, shear, von Mises, and factor of safety
10. Vectorised internals — NumPy/SciPy throughout for performance
